A variation of my "Blood Aether" hair comb, made for ~Amaranthinelove. :) The picture on the lower right is taken with flash just so you can see the colors well... and also my big fat fingerprint on the center stone. Oops.

25mm Emerald "trillion" stone, 2 6mm Emerald drops, 20pp Olivine chatons, vintage brass findings, assorted watch gears, and some brass clock hands, all mounted on a small barrette clip. All rhinestones are Swarovski crystal.

Now I'm tempted to be OCD and make the amethyst version (the only other color in the large stone besides clear!)... hmm...

your gallery is crazy cool! the steam punk jewelry looks so complex, i just love it! this green piece might be my fave so far, possibly because it strays from the reds and pinks that seem to dominate your work. just awesome!

Oh this is beautiful!

Oh wow, that's so magical looking! (and so delicate! D; )

it almost looks like you take apart some watches to get those wonderful little gears for your works! You must have a lot of patience to be able to put this together ^__^

this is very beautiful! Loving the HUGE emerald and the little green stones (those are the Emerald stones, right?)

I actually buy lots of watch innards! My favorite site for such is mantofev.com. They come in little plastic canisters - I bought 10! A little goes a long way, so I think I'm set for awhile. lol

Thanks! Yeah, I tend to do my personal stuff in reds, pinks, and purples since those are my favorite colors (not to mention I think I wear red well. Hah!).

I'm itching to make a set of jewelry using topaz stones and ivory pearls...

Oh wow, that's so neat! I didn't know you could buy them separately ^_^ Yes, I'd imagine those little containers contain tons of those tiny pieces in them! XD

and I must give you magical points, when I was taking jewelry in art college, I did really bad in that class, but you sure have a knack for this sort of thing! I don't see it very often ^_^ what do you use to put the pieces together? My first assumption is glue because I'd think welding (I forgot the right term for it for jewelry D; ) would be too much for such thin metal^^
:iconspace-invader:
I use glue for now -either E6000 epoxy for large, heavier pieces or G-S Hypo Cement for smaller stones and gears. I'm looking into soldering for things like attaching pin backs and bails, but that's something I'm gonna have to play with on scraps before I go after any of my good pieces ;).

Where do you get such wonderfully large faceted stones? (Or are they glass?)
:iconthehoodedninja:
XD wow, that must be some really fine glue to make it not even visible at all ^__^

Soldering! that's what it was called! ooh, that sounds like a grand idea! I thought soldering was fun! I look forward to it all! X3
